Jonathan Lindhorst is a German-Canadian saxophonist, composer, educator and researcher who divides his time between Berlin and his home country of Canada. With a career that has spanned nearly 30 years, Jonathan has developed deep ties to the international jazz and improvised music community, and over the past 15 years has performed regularly in Berlin, Ireland, the UK, New York, Montreal, and Toronto. His diverse musical interests have taken him from deep inside the jazz tradition, to the most experimental ends of free improvisation and New Music. In recent years, he was become a leading researcher in the emerging field of Tone-Clock Theory, which has redefined his compositional and improvisational language. This has lead to the 2022 release of Constantly Moving Happiness Machines, a project he co-leads with London bassist Huw V. Williams, and the formation of his Berlin quartet Fermi Paradox. Jonathan has performed and recorded with some of Europe’s leading young voices in the jazz and improvised music scene including Mark Pringle, Max Santner, Lisa Hoppe, Dan Peter Sundland, Peter Van Huffel, Chris Guilfoyle, and Felix Henkelhausen. Jonathan is currently a doctoral candidate at The Schulich School of Music at McGill University in Montreal under the supervision of John Hollenbeck.

Dan Peter Sundland is a unique electric bass player and composer active in the jazz and improvising scenes in Norway and Berlin. His playing is set apart by his expressive, wide ranging playing techniques, including cello-like bowing and a varied palette of percussive colours. His discography includes compositional work for his own eleven-piece Elevenette, the Berlin based improvising quartet Home Stretch and sideman work and collective groups including Lina Allemano’s Ohrenschmaus, Simon Kanzler’s hardcore opera and singer-songwriter Port Almond. Has been featured with musicians including Jim Black, John Hollenbeck, Axel Dörner, Tobias Delius, Hans Hulbækmo, Hanna Paulsberg, Eirik Hegdal, John Pål Inderberg and Tor Haugerud.

Drummer/composer Greg Smith has been active on the international jazz, classical, and beat-music scene since the mid 1990s. His chameleon-esque ability has led him to work with artists as diverse as David Binney, Chris Speed, Reggie Washington, Sandra St-Victor & Family Stand, and Kori Withers. Smith has additionally developed an affinity with experimental electronics, creating works for contemporary dance-theater companies around the world.
